From the PMO


Thank you to all Spec Leads who notified the PMO by March 28 regarding plans to submit a new stage posting before the 2008 JavaOne Conference. If you haven't responded by the deadline but wish to publish a JSR stage before JavaOne, please contact the PMO immediately. While the PMO will make every effort to still publish your stages no guaranteed turnaround times can be given at this point.

Check the JCP home page for upcoming information about JCP activities at the 2008 JavaOne Conference. Most of them will take place at the Intercontinental Hotel San Francisco including the JSR Expert Group meetings for which the PMO has reserved the Fremont Roomfrom 9:00 AM to 6:00 PM, May 5-9, 2008. You can book this room by sending an email with your preferred time slot to Liz Kiener (liz@jcp.org). Reservations are on first come, first served basis.

Noteworthy JSRs

If you want to know more about a JSR of your interest, please take a look at the Community Update Pages accessible from all JSR detail pages. Your comments are much appreciated by Spec Leads and can influence the work of the Expert Groups.

  • JSR 225, XQuery API for Java, passed Final Approval Ballot.
  • JSR 231, Java Binding for the OpenGL API, is now available in Maintenance Review.
  • JSR 235, Service Data Objects, is now available for Early Draft Review.
  • The ME EC voted to approve the Public Review Draft of JSR 271, Mobile Information Device Profile 3.
  • JSR 279, Service Connection API for Java ME, got its Public Review Draft approved.
  • JSR 286, Portlet Specification 2.0, passed Final Approval Ballot. The JSR is led by Star Spec Lead Stefan Hepper of IBM.
  • The Proposed Final Draft Specification for JSR 289, SIP Servlet v1.1 is now available.
  • JSR 290, Java Language & XML User Interface Markup Integration, passed the Public Review ballot.
  • The Early Draft Review Specification for JSR 301, Portlet Bridge Specification for JavaServer Faces, is now available for Review.
  • Another Early Draft now available for review is JSR 303, Bean Validation.
  • JSR 318, Enterprise JavaBeans 3.1, is also among the March advancers with its Early Draft recently published.

The JCP receives leads from publications on a daily basis and is inviting you to take advantage of the opportunity to share your work under the JCP with broader audiences via our program of contributed articles.
