office.  Check out the 2007 Calendar for other upcoming events.

JCP EXECUTIVE COMMITTEE (EC) ELECTIONS RESULTS

Welcome To The Newly and Re-elected Members To The JCP Program ECs!  The 2006 JCP EC Elections concluded on 13 November. The open elections declared the following members elected to the executive committees: On the Standard/Enterprise Edition (SE/EE) EC, Doug Lea. On the Micro
Edition (ME) EC, Jean-Marie Dautelle and Ericsson. Earlier in the elections process the ratification ballot confirmed six EC members to the JCP ECs: HP, Fujitsu, IBM, Oracle to the SE/EE EC. PMO WINTER BREAK & HOLIDAY GREETING

The PMO will be on holiday from 25 December -  1 January. This means no 2 week ballots can start on 12, 19 or 26 December. Also, no Community Review or Early Draft Review ballot can start on 19 or 26 December and no Maintenance Review can end between 25 December 2006 and 1 January 2007.

Noteworthy JSRs
Did you know that the PMO offers Public Relations support to spec leads? The JCP conducts outreach to the press with JSR news on an ongoing bi-weekly basis. If would like to highlight your JSR, please contact Corina Ulescu at corina@jcp.org.
  • JSR 287, Scalable 2D Vector Graphics API 2.0 for Java ME, is now
    available for Early Draft Review; this review closes on 18 January.
  • JSR 284, Resource Consumption Management API, is now available for
    Public Review; this review closes on 18 December.
  • JSR 278, Resource Management API for Java ME, is now available for
    Public Review; this review closes on 8 January.
  • JSR 239, Java Binding for the OpenGL® ES API, is now available for
    Maintenance Review; this review closes This review closes on 18 December.
  • The Expert Group for JSR 270, Java SE 6 Release Contents, has completed its work and published the Final Release of the specification.
    The Final Release of the specification is available from the Java Community Process Web site at:  http://jcp.org/en/jsr/stage?listBy=final and also from the JSR 270 page.
  • Additional JSRs that went final this week as component JSRs of JSR 270JSR 223, Scripting for the Java Platform, JSR 199, Java Compiler API, JSR 269,  Pluggable Annotation Processing API, JSR 268, Java Smart Card I/O API, JSR 202, Java Class File Specification, JSR 221, JDBC API Specification.

Expert Group (EG) Coordination: If you have an EG kick-off meeting and would like to get an overview of the JSR 2.6 program please contact the JSR Program Manager, Liz Kiener at: Liz@jcp.org or +1 510 550 4353. Liz is also available to facilitate face to face meetings for your EG or help two or more EGs of related or dependent JSRs to meet.
