A new feature article on jcp.org provides an overview and many
photographs of the fun at the 2005 JavaOne Conference held in San Francisco,
California, celebrating the 10 year birthday of Java technology. JCP program
members took advantage of a variety of opportunities to mingle with fellow
members, Experts, Spec Leads, EC members and members of the PMO. "JCP Program

Preparations for the 2005 EC Elections are underway; this year the ratification
ballot will be posted on 27 September, and voting will begin 4 October.
The JSPA contact(s) for each JCP member company or individual are eligible
to vote and will be sent their voting PIN via email on 4 October.
Nominations for the open elections can be submitted this year from 4-17
October. If you or your company is interested in joining one of the ECs
this is a good time to prepare your nomination. The nomination template
will become available from the voting web site on 4 October. More

JSR 281, IMS Services
API, has been approved to continue development. This JSR provides a high-level API to
access IP Multimedia Subsystem (IMS) services. This API hides IMS technology details
and expose service-level support to enable easy development of IMS applications.
- JSR 264, Order Management API, is
now available for Early Draft Review. This review closes 26 August. Also, see their java.net page.
- JSR 246, Device Management API , is
now available for Early Draft Review. This review closes 7 September.
- JSR 121, The Expert Group for JSR 121,
Application Isolation API Specification, has published a proposed Final Draft.
- JSR 252, JSR 245, Look for Proposed Final
Drafts soon from JSR 252, JavaServer Faces 1.2 and JSR 245, Java Server Pages 2.1.
- JSR 208, The final release of JSR 208,
Java Business Integration (JBI), RI and TCK will be available on 23 August. Platform vendors can
now validate their JBI implementations. Look for exciting developments in the integration
space, as JBI is leveraged to standardize SOA. The final release will be
available here:JSR 208.

JSR 179, Location API for J2ME. This review closes on 6 September.
- JSR 907, Java Transaction API (JTA). This review closes on 6 September.
- JSR 919, JavaMail. This review closes on 6 September.
- JSR 115, Java Authorization Contract for Containers. This review closes on 12 September.
