After thinking it over I've decided not to accept your application.
To keep the EG focused it is best to limit them to representatives of organizations that implement Java SE or build significant products on top of it, and to individuals with an established record of notable technical contributions.
Being on the EG will not give you the influence you'd like. Technical decisions are made in OpenJDK release mailing lists (jdk-dev@ojn) and functional area lists. New features are also developed in forward-looking OpenJDK Projects such as Amber, Loom and Valhalla.
Your time is best spent monitoring CSRs. An approved CSR is required for all API changes. Questioning the impact of a CSR before the change is pushed is much better than waiting for the promotion. I'll provide you with specific suggestions in a separate message.
Finally, feedback to the EG via the java-se-spec-comments@ojn list is welcome. |
