- Transparency Webinar. The Java Community Process (JCP) program hosted a webinar on the topic of transparency on Wednesday, December 17. Members of the JCP program office discussed the topic of how to run an expert group efficiently, and fellow spec leads Mike Milikich (Motorola) and Ed Burns (Sun) spoke about tools and techniques that they have used with their expert groups. The meeting was recorded and the link will be available soon on jcp.org. The September webinar on transparency is also available.
- In the Spotlight. The JCP PMO recently introduced a new section on jcp.org IN THE SPOTLIGHT. In it the PMO highlights members' accomplishments and the thoughts they expressed about the JCP program over time. - Now Open! JavaOne Conference Call for Papers.
JavaOne 2009 will be June 2-5, 2009 at The Moscone Center San Francisco, CA. The Call for Papers deadline is December 19, 2008.
- Jazoon'09, The International Conference on Java Technology, will take place in Zurich from 22 to 25 June 2009. The Call for Papers is now open for all conference tracks.
- The Call for Papers is now open for ApacheCon US 2009, taking place 2-6 November in Oakland, California. Proposals are now being accepted and can be revised at anytime until the submissions closing deadline of 28 February 2009.
- O'Reilly Media and Program invites proposals for tutorials, sessions, and panels for OSCON, July 20 - 24, 2009, in San Jose, CA. Proposals will be accepted through February 3, 2009, and early registration for attendees and media will open in March 2009. JSR Program Manager. The PMO is also available to facilitate face to face
meetings for your EG or help two or more EGs of related or dependent JSRs to meet.
