- JCP Elections. October 20th marked the conclusion of the ratified seats election. All the ratified candidates were confirmed Ericsson, SpringSource, and SAP for the SE/EE EC and Nokia, Philips, and IBM for the ME EC. Congratulations to all!
The nomination phase of the election started on October 21 and will run until October 31. Check http://jcpelection2008.org for more information about this year's elections and don't miss the opportunity to vote for the candidate of your choice. - EC Meeting Minutes Now Available. In compliance with the decision made at the last Executive Committee meeting, all the JCP EC meeting summaries are now publicly available. Future summaries will be published as soon as approved by the Executive Committees. See EC Meeting Summary Archive.
- Webinar. On September 24 the JCP program hosted a webinar on JSR development transparency.
If you couldn't attend it but you are interested in finding out what experience other Spec Leads have had with different techniques and tools for developing JSRs in a transparent fashion, you can now download the jcp presentation, the JSR 289 presentation and the podcast.
- In the Spotlight. The JCP PMO just introduced last month a new section on jcp.org IN THE SPOTLIGHT. In it the PMO highlights members' accomplishments and the thoughts they expressed about the JCP program over time. Should you like the PMO to highlight your contribution to the JCP or a colleague's please contact corina@jcp.org.

After that informal review, the JCP's Program Management Office (PMO) conducted a more formal survey, asking Spec Leads what they are doing to meet their obligations under the Java Community Process to operate in a transparent manner.

The JCP receives leads from publications on a daily basis and is inviting you to take advantage of the opportunity to share your work under the JCP with broader audiences via our program of contributed articles.

Expert Group (EG) Coordination: If you have an EG kick-off meeting and
would like to get an overview of the JSR 2.6 program please contact your
JSR Program Manager. The PMO is also available to facilitate face to face
meetings for your EG or help two or more EGs of related or dependent JSRs to meet.
