The JCP Program Management Office (PMO) announced the winners of the 2020 JCP Program Annual Awards, which took place at the
2020 JCP Community Party and Awards Ceremony, virtual this year, on Friday, September 18. The JCP program
introduced the Annual Awards in 2003 to recognize excellence in Java platform standards development and innovation.

The JCP Member/Participant of the Year was awarded posthumously to the late Bill Shannon.
The JCP Spec Lead/JSR of the Year was awarded to JSR 389, Java Standard Edition (Java SE) 14.
