- The JSR ballot of a successor JSR for the Information Module Profile
(JSR 195) has been started. The intention of this "Information Module
Profile - Next Generation (IMP-NG)" is to enable information modules
(displayless mobile devices for non-human use in modems,
selling machines etc.) to use (non-graphical) features of MIDP 2.0, as
IMP did for MIDP 1.0 features.

- JSR 32, JAIN SIP v1.1, has completed its maintenance release. The
specification is available here: http://jcp.org/en/jsr/detail?id=32.
JAIN SIP supports the following RFC's 3261, 2976, 3262, 3265, 3311,

its kickoff meeting on September 16-17. For more information, please
contact the JSR-226 spec. leads.
