Hello JCP Members,
Here is your May edition of the PMO News Bulletin. 

This Bulletin is sent to JCP Members, Spec Leads and Experts and is 
scheduled to be a monthly insert in your email inbox. This edition 
focuses on JCP Maintenance Review and JCP activities at JavaOne.

- Get your JCP ribbon
This year at JavaOne, all JCP Members will be recognized with badge 
ribbons. Go to the Sun Desk (near JavaOne registration) after you pick 
up your badge for your JCP Member ribbon.  

- Come to the JCP Member Event
Tuesday evening at 6:00 pm, June 5, located in the Marriott Hotel, 
minutes from Moscone, the evening offers a unique opportunity to hear 
how the EC and Program Management Office (PMO) work with Java 
developers to evolve Java technology to meet present and future 
requirements. Panelists include several members of both the 
Standard/Enterprise Edition EC and the Micro Edition EC.

You`ll hear an overview of the JCP vision followed by a description 
of the latest testing tools and a buffet dinner. Next, a panel of 
Executive Committee members of the Java Community Process will talk 
about exciting Java technologies in development. Before the evening 
concludes, all attendees will have a chance to win prizes.

- Attend the JCP presentation on Thursday
The JCP Technical session runs 2:45-3:45 pm, located in the 
"Java Technology at Work" track, entitled "The Java Community 
Process (SM) initiative, an Update" (TS-178:Fundamentals).  
Find out the latest happenings in the JCP program and learn from 
Spec Leads who will share their experiences.

- Ask your favorite hard questions at the JCP BOF 
Scheduled for Thursday evening from 8-8:50 pm, the JCP BOF is also 
in the "Java Technology at Work" track.  The Program Office will 
be there to answer your questions.


** Notable JSRs **

This section of the News Bulltin calls out JSRs that have news to share
with the Java Community. If your JSR has something newsworthy to report 
then send an alert ("Hey PMO!") to jcp-pmo@sun.com.

JSR 913
-------
The JCP itself is in Maintenance Review! 
The Program Office together with the Executive Committees are proposing
changes to the JSR balloting rules. The review closes on June 11.
