The only major objection in the spec for Palm that I see right now is in the Over-the-air provisioning part of the spec with support for a 'Delete-Notify' notification from the device to the provisioning server.  This would require either the OS to have hooks for function invocation on application delete, or would require the VM to track installed Java apps at each invocation and send messaging then even though the application is long gone.  Too painful from an implementation and end user perspective to be of any benefit.
