BEA believes that a Service Provider Interface for JMS is needed; changes will be required to accommodate this SPI. The next versions of JCA, EJB, and J2EE should address these problems; we understand that JCA 2.0 is already addressing them.

The broader issues of the contract between a MDB in container managed transactions need to be worked through.(The container can't start the transaction until it has received a message, but if the message is already pushed it can't be part of the transaction.)   At present, a private interface is required (as in the reference implementation).
