The proposal has the potential of conflicting with alternative solutions that are proposed as part of J2EE (e.g. loosely coupled Web services) and therefore the architectural integrity of J2EE could potentially be affected. We recognize that there is no clear consensus in the EC whether it should get involved in resolving potential architectural conflicts. SAP would prefer that the EC provides guidelines in how to use potentially conflicting J2EE technologies. However, given the stage of this JSR we will abstain and will instead continue our discussions in the EC regarding its role as a mediator for architectural conflicts.
