We'd definitely like to find ways of simplifying Java client application
construction.  That is an area that seems ripe for some experimentation
and innovation.

Unfortunately the draft JSR is very broad and it seems to be taking on
some extremely tough problems.  There also seems to be a risk of conflicts
with existing APIs like internationalization and logging.  In general
the proposal does not provide a clear enough definition of what specific
problems it is trying to solve.

Without a clearer understanding of what problems are being solved and
without some broader community support for creating APIs in this space,
it seems premature to try to create a standard.
