> Aspects of GUI usage are unclear. XLETs don't define how they would share a UI frame. The notion of one frame per application is an acceptable restriction, but the XLET is an application lifecycle framework. Is it possible for a developer to build a GUI based XLET through these specifications? 

> Image Classes don't handle all image formats, but which ones are to be supported? JPEG? PNG? GIF? What is the minimum image handling required by the specification.

Zucotto concurs with the concern over TCK and RI licensing and the ability to create an independent implementation without requiring an RI license (should be a mandatory feature of all JSRs). We also agree with the other comments that additional detail in inter-application communication needs to be provided in the next draft.

* licensing terms for the TCK, and
* details if independent implementations are possible without licensing the RI. 

If licensing the RI is required for independent implementations, the licensing terms for the RI would motivate incompatible, independent implementations in the market.
