Sun is happy to support this JSR.  However, we would
like to point out that existing APIs and technologies
can only be revised through their existing JSRs.  If
this JSR requires changes to JSP/servlet file formats or
to existing JSP tags, that will have to be done in concert
with the spec lead for the existing JSRs.  For those JSRs
where Sun is spec lead, we will be happy to cooperate in
developing any necessary changes.

If the JSR is approved, it is Apache's hope that this can be built on top of existing frameworks and not change and complicate the underlying stack of frameworks (i.e. no changes to the deployment descriptor model).
