Henri Sara works as a Senior Vaadin Expert in the Vaadin R&D Team where he has been developing the open source framework Vaadin and tools around it for the last five years. Prior to that, he has worked as a software architect for Java based systems for management of network security and developed software for scientists working in life sciences.
At Vaadin, Henri has worked on the JSR-286 (portlet 2.0) support for Vaadin including client-server communication, session management, inter-portlet communication and portlet lifecycle related issues. He has first-hand experience on the problems and limitations with the current portlet specification with respect to developing Ajax applications for portals as well as issues where portal specific implementations are currently needed. |

Ed Burns is currently a Consulting Member of the Technical Staff at Oracle America, Inc. At Oracle, Ed is the specification lead for JavaServer Faces, the standard Web Application Framework for Java EE. Ed contined in this role from his work at Sun Microsystems, Inc. In this role, Ed leads a team of web experts from across the industry in developing JavaServer Faces Technology through the Java Community Process and in open source. His areas of professional interests include web application frameworks, AJAX, reducing complexity, test driven development, requirements gathering, and computer supported collaborative work. Before working on JavaServer Faces, Ed worked on a wide variety of client and server side web technologies since 1994, including NCSA Mosaic, Mozilla, the Sun Java Plugin, Jakarta Tomcat, the Cosmo Create HTML authoring tool, and the web transport layer in the Irix operating system from Silicon Graphics. |

Werner develops enterprise systems using Java, JEE, Oracle, IBM or Microsoft, does Web design and development using Adobe,Ajax/JavaScript, dynamic or functional languages.
Besides working for major companies, he runs his own creative and talent agency Creative Arts & Technologies and in his spare time, runs and supports open-source projects, writes song lyrics, novels, screenplays, technical books and articles.

Julien Viet co-leads the open source GateIn Portal. In this role, he is deeply involved in GateIn’s technical vision and plays a key role in its development.
In addition Julien Viet leads the development and architecture the open source GateIn Portlet Container (supporting JSR-168 and JSR-286, http://www.jboss.org/gatein/portletcontainer) that he created in 2005.
Julien is passionate about open source and active in standards groups. He was also an expert group member for several Java specifications, including Portlet 2.0 (JSR-286), Content Repository for Java Technology API 2.0 (JSR-283) and Portlet Bridge for JavaServer Faces (JSR-301). Julien holds an engineering degree from Institut National des Télécommunications, one of France’s top schools for engineering. |

I can into touch with different technologies such as jsr168, jsr286, JSF, JSP, Spring, different application- and portal servers (WebSphere, JBoss, Liferay) and different aggregation techniques (CSA, SSA, Hybrid).
During recent customer projects i developed several frameworks and integration layers for services that i would wish, would become part of this specification in order to enhance the overall possibilities comming along with portlet3. |
