 JSR #276 Design-Time Metadata for JavaServerTM Faces Components
Community Summary The materials on this page are provided by the Spec Lead of this JSR for evaluation and feedback. These materials are not final, and are subject to change as the JSR progresses through the process. The JSR 276 Expert Group is utilizing the collaborative tools provided by java.net to develop the specification and related work materials. Please visit the jsf-metadata-spec-public project on java.net to check on our progress. The Expert Group started by documenting and prioritizing the requirements for the JSR, and produced around 40 real-world use cases that demonstrate the need for those requirements. Based on those requirements, we have defined a set of proposed design-time metadata items for JSF component, properties, attributes, and facets. We produced a draft XML Schema that specifies the file format that component authors will use to provide this metadata. These documents are contained in the java.net project. We submitted an Early Draft Review specification for community review that was published on April 9, 2010. We encourage the JCP community to review the specification and to provide any feedback to the JSR 276 comments alias (jsr-276-comments@jcp.org).
