This is the Final Release of this Specification, as described in Section 3.5 of the Java Community ProcessSM Program, version 2.6.

Reference Implementation and Technology Compatibility Kit:
    In addition to providing access to the TCK and RI to those existing licensees of Sun's Java technology who's agreements with Sun already entitle them to such access, subject to the terms and conditions of those agreements, Sun Microsystems, Inc., will make the TCK and RI for the XML API for Java ME available for licensing separately as follows:
  • RI: Sun will make a binary version of the XML API for Java ME Reference Implementation available at no cost to standalone TCK licensees for the limited purpose of configuring and supporting the TCK. Sun will make a binary version of the XML API for Java ME Reference Implementation available with redistribution rights subject to reasonable commercial terms. Sun will make a source code version of the XML API for Java ME Reference Implementation available under both the GPL v. 2 license and under reasonable commercial terms.
  • TCK: Sun will make the XML API for Java ME TCK available on a stand-alone basis at no charge, without support or any trademark license rights, to qualified not-for-profit entities (including not-for-profit academic institutions) and qualified individuals engaged in efforts to create compatible implementations of the Specification. All other use is deemed commercial. Sun will also make the XML API for Java ME TCK available with updates and upgrades for commercial use for a flat fee of USD$50,000 for a term of 3 years.

    The TCK will be available to Qualified Not-for-Profits and Qualified Individuals for no charge as per Section 5.F.III of the JSPA 2. Details on the Compatibility Testing Scholarship Program can be found at http://java.sun.com/scholarship/.
